Scarlet Mormon - underside

The Scarlet Mormon (Papilio rumanzovia) is a species of butterfly native to the Philippines. Males have bright red undersides while their wings are mostly black when viewed from above. Females have red and white markings. My butterfly wood-slice paintings are done on 1/2 inch pine wood slices approximately 6.5-8 inches in diameter. They are all organically shaped and unique. Each is finished with a glossy resin coating and hanging hardware, ready to brighten up your space.
