On the night of March 19, 2016, I found myself having a vivid and horrific dream of a terrorist attack. (Coincidentally, two days later just such an attack occurred in Brussels, Belgium). I was present as bombs were exploding around me and people were dying. I felt the energy of terror come over me. It felt as though beings of darkness and evil were overwhelming me and pulling me down into a dark pit.

Suddenly, I was jerked awake like someone had pulled me up. The instant I opened my eyes there was a flood of loving energy, expanding out of my chest. The energy of love was of a magnitude that I had never experienced before. It felt incredibly warm and tangible. It spread over my entire body and throughout the room. I could even "see" it in my mind's eye, like a bright golden light. And in my heart there seemed to be shining a bright white sun. 

Fully conscious now, there were no thoughts about what was happening, only witnessing. I observed while the remnants of terror grasped at me, like dark hands, trying to pull me back to sleep. In response, the loving energy intensified and then completely washed away the terror with an incredible strength, like an ocean wave washing away a tiny pebble on a beach.  

A knowing came to my mind that this energy, this all-encompassing love, could handle any darkness that existed in the world. Even the most horrific and overwhelming experience was nothing compared to the power of that love. A perfect peacefulness settled upon me, and I blissfully fell back to sleep.

In the morning I realized that what I had experienced so tangibly was the presence of Divinity. It could not possibly have been anything else.  This day marked a pivotal moment in my life, with this presence revisiting frequently thereafter, leading to significant changes in my life over the following years
