The Spirit Tree of Life

The Spirit Tree of Life is a story that invites readers to reflect on the nature of life and the source of consciousness through the metaphor of an eternal tree.
Its purpose is to inspire joy, wonderment, peace and serenity, knowing that one’s existence is eternal and not subject to “death” as we perceive it. Instead, one can see oneself as part of a spiritual “whole” which includes everyone and everything.
As our spirits grow, so too does the tree grow, as life joyfully continues on forever through a process of unfolding evolution.
This book serves multiple purposes:
-
It acts as a calming bedtime story for children, encouraging tranquility and peaceful sleep.
-
It offers deep spiritual insights for adults, exploring the nature of consciousness and existence.
-
It serves as a reminder of our shared "inner child," nurturing feelings of love, support, and a connection to an eternal Oneness.
The illustrations in this book were human-created with acrylic paint on canvas. Each page of the story includes an explanation in the back of the book.
Explanation of the Spirit Tree Painting

The Spirit Tree of Life symbolizes nonduality and Divine creation. It is designed to be easily understood, making its essence accessible to everyone, including children. Each element of the image has a specific meaning. More detailed illustration and explanation can be found in the picture book detailed below.
Base - The base of the tree represents Divinity Unmanifest, from which all that has existence arises.

Tree - The tree itself represents Divinity Manifest as Creation. It grows spontaneously as everything is created through an evolutionary process.

Sparkly essence - The sparkly essence of the entire tree represents consciousness, which is the essence of all that exists.
Infinity Symbol - This symbol represents infinite creation. Divinity Unmanifest is the infinite source, and Divinity Manifest grows infinitely.

Trunk and wings - The trunk of the tree with wings represents the domain of great and powerful beings which we would refer to as archangels.

Branches - The branches represent the diminishing power of consciousness from the trunk of the tree to the tips of the branches. This illustrates various different angelic domains with different levels of power.

Leaf buds - The buds of the tree represent the human domain.

Rainbow colors - Represent the different levels of consciousness present in the human domain as a spectrum.

Leaves - The leaves represent the physical forms in the human domain and the realm of duality. The gold leaves represent the dualistic masculine energies while the silver leaves represent the feminine energies.

Falling leaves - The falling leaves represent the dropping of the physical form or "death" of the physical body. The remaining leaf bud on the tree represents the continuation of the spiritual life of the soul.

Middle light - Represents the light of consciousness as life as well as Divinity Transcendent.

Light within the tree and in each leaf bud - Represents Divinity as it is experienced within, or immanent. There are differences in the amount of sparkle within each leaf bud, representing different levels of self-realization.

Radiating light - The gold radiating light represents the love of Divinity that shines equally on all that exists.

"Once upon a time, a Beautiful Tree grew out of Infinity."
Infinity

This illustration represents “Divinity,” the source of consciousness, as a formless energy field with no beginning and no end, from which everything is spontaneously created. This energy field is the source of sentience and of life. It is the source of stillness. silence, peacefulness, and lovingness.
It would be more accurate to depict this formless energy field, prior to form, as a blank white space. However, this may be confusing to the reader. It is important to understand that this field of consciousness is the same essence that permeates the entire tree, and so it is depicted as a sparkly light-filled space.

"She sprang into being on the wings of the Beloved Mother, in the light of the Beloved Father. Stretching her branches high in the air, she birthed herself in all directions."
Birth
The birth of the tree represents Divinity - the energy of consciousness - spontaneously presenting itself as form through the process of Creation. This image also represents the birth of a universe. The wings represent celestial realms of great power, while the light represents the light of consciousness as Life. Note that the tree is not separate from Divinity, but all is Divinity itself.

"On her Beautiful Branches she grew Beautiful Buds."
Beautiful Branches

The long branches represent the diminishing power of Divinity/Consciousness from the celestial realms down to the earthly domain. The buds represent the maximum level of consciousness possible in the earthly domain.

"These buds became her Beloved Sons and Beloved Daughters. They each reflected one another in perfect balance and perfect harmony."
Beautiful Buds

The different colors on the buds represent taking on an illusion of separateness or “duality.” This sense of separateness results in the sense of a personal self or “ego.” It can also be called “karma.” The colors represent the masculine and feminine dualistic energies. They also represent the concept of yin and yang.
It is important to see that this sense of separateness is only an illusion. The buds are still connected to the tree branches and connected to the “whole.” All is one consciousness having an experience of being many. The sons and daughters are beloved as they are part of Divinity itself

"During the warmth of each day the Beautiful Buds donned Mother's leaves in every shape and size. They joyfully played storytelling games in the rainbow spectrum of sunlight."
Donning Leaves
The leaves represent Divinity manifesting as physicality. The spirit interfaces with the physical body to have a physical experience and plays out karmic stories through various life experiences.
The rainbow colors represent the various levels of consciousness in the earthly domain. Even though each personal self will temporarily forget that it is Divinity, and instead believe it is a physical self, the spirit is joyful because it knows that all life experiences are gifts for enjoyment, growth and development.

"The Beautiful Buds were allowed to play all day and tell as many stories as they wished until they became tired."
Dropping leaves
Dropping the leaves represents letting go of the physical form. When the spirit is finished with a particular life story, it drops the physicality. It can either choose another physical form or continue enjoying spiritual existence. Nothing happens to the spirit when the physicality is dropped. Life cannot be destroyed by the “death” of the physical. Instead it changes form.

"During the cold of each night they cuddled close to Father's light, whose love beamed equally upon each one, chasing away all darkness, bringing comfort and deep rest."
Father’s light
The “cold of night” represents suffering and negativity experienced in the earthly domain due to the illusion of separateness, which can be greatly alleviated by turning towards “Father’s light” representing Divinity as the light of consciousness. By supplication, the infinite lovingness of Divinity is equally available to everyone. Darkness is experienced as one turns away from the light. Darkness is automatically dissolved as one turns toward the light. All experience is by free will and choice. To choose to experience Divinity is to experience love and peace.

"As the Beautiful Buds grew up, they became Beautiful Branches, and as these branches grew further, they grew Beautiful Buds of their very own."
Evolution
The image of buds growing into branches represents spirits transcending the earthly realm and becoming part of the angelic realm. As they continue their evolution they can choose to assist others. The image of branches growing new buds represents angelic beings helping to support those in the earthly domain. Everyone in the earthly domain has guardian angels that are available for support via supplication.

"In this way The Spirit Tree of Life goes on and on. Forever and ever this tree grows."
The Spirit Tree
The image of the whole tree represents all of the prior images together. Note that all of creation is one “whole.” The creation of the universe is continuous and forever through a process of infinite evolution.

"So, sleep tight Beautiful Buds. Allow yourselves to peacefully rest, knowing that tomorrow you can wake up and continue enjoying the never-ending story of Life."
Infinite Universes
This image is a close up view of the buds, each with another infinite tree growing inside. One can assume that each of those trees have buds on their branches with more trees inside them, while the current tree is also inside a bud on a yet larger tree. One can imagine that this repetition continues on forever with no beginning and no end. This image represents the existence of infinite universes and continuous creation. Consciousness is the continual source and essence of all of life that continues on forever.
