Common Green Birdwing - Male

The Common Green Birdwing (Ornithoptera priamus)is a species of butterfly native to Central and South Moluccas, New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, Solomon Islands and Australia. The males and females are notably different colors as males are electgric green and feamles are brown. My butterfly wood-slice paintings are done on 1/2 inch pine wood slices approximately 6.5-8 inches in diameter. They are all organically shaped and unique. Each is finished with a glossy resin coating and hanging hardware, ready to brighten up your space.
