Blue Pansy - Male

The Blue Pansy (Junonia orithya) is a species of butterfly native to Africa, South and Southeast Asia and Australia. The males and females are notably different colors. They have a stiff-winged movement and typically glide while flying.  My butterfly wood-slice paintings are done on 1/2 inch pine wood slices approximately 6.5-8 inches in diameter. They are all organically shaped and unique. Each is finished with a glossy resin coating and hanging hardware, ready to brighten up your space.
